En Maldivas, los productos de tabaco calentado (HTP, por sus siglas en inglés) están prohibidos por ley, lo que incluye la importación, venta, uso y toda forma de publicidad de estos productos. Las tasas impositivas generales para los productos de tabaco se fijan en el 200% del valor CIF (costo, seguro y flete) de los productos de tabaco (excepto los cigarrillos) y de los artículos utilizados para su consumo, aplicándose este gravamen en el momento de la importación.
