En Ghana, la prevalencia del consumo de tabaco entre adultos de 15 años o más fue del 4% en hombres y del 0,3% en mujeres en 2022, con una prevalencia general del 2,1%. En comparación, la prevalencia general de tabaquismo en adultos en 2020 fue del 2,4%, con un 4,4% entre los hombres y un 0,3% entre las mujeres. El número total de personas fumadoras de tabaco disminuyó de 453.184 en 2020 a 416.722 en 2022, lo que refleja una tendencia a la baja desde 2019, cuando la cifra era de 644.429. Como referencia, la prevalencia diaria del consumo de tabaco entre adultos en 2017 fue del 3,1%, con un 6,1% en hombres y un 0,2% en mujeres.
