В Венесуэле курение разрешено, однако действуют определённые ограничения. Продажа сигарет легальна, но их приобретение через торговые автоматы или онлайн запрещено. Ввоз сигарет для коммерческих целей допускается при наличии импортной лицензии. Кроме того, на упаковке сигарет обязательно размещаются предупреждения о вреде для здоровья, а на всю табачную продукцию действует полный запрет на рекламу. Минимальный возраст для покупки сигарет составляет 18 лет. Также курение законодательно ограничено в общественных местах для снижения воздействия пассивного курения. На сигареты в Венесуэле установлена совокупная ставка налогообложения в размере 0,73. Согласно данным за 2023 год, распространённость текущего употребления табака среди взрослых составила 25,2% среди мужчин и 13,9% среди женщин, в целом — 19,4%. Оценочное общее количество взрослых, которые курят, в 2024 году составило 2,7 миллиона человек. В 2023 году ежедневное курение среди взрослых составляло 13,1%, при этом среди мужчин — 17%, среди женщин — 9,4%. Курение табака значительно влияет на смертность в Венесуэле: в 2021 году около 14 100 смертей были связаны с употреблением табака, в том числе 10 300 среди мужчин и 3 800 среди женщин. Это означает, что смерть от причин, связанных с курением, составила 5,08% от общего числа смертей в стране, при этом среди мужчин — 6,37%, среди женщин — 3,27%. Эти данные свидетельствуют о значительном бремени для общественного здоровья, связанном с курением в Венесуэле.
