В Науру курение разрешено законом с определёнными ограничениями. Продажа, покупка через интернет и импорт сигарет для торговли разрешены, однако покупка сигарет через торговые автоматы запрещена. Действующие правила требуют наносить предупреждения о вреде здоровью на упаковку, ограничивают курение в общественных местах и устанавливают минимальный возраст для покупки табачных изделий — 18 лет. На сигареты действует общий налог в размере 0,42. Несмотря на эти меры, курятв по-прежнему распространено в Науру. По данным на 2024 год, примерно 34,1% взрослых были зарегистрированы как курятв, среди них 40,7% составляли женщины и 27,6% — мужчины. В 2021 году было зафиксировано 15 случаев смерти, связанных с курением, что составило 16,47% всех смертей в стране, включая 12,76% случаев среди женщин и 19,32% среди мужчин.
