В Беларуси курение разрешено с определёнными ограничениями. Продажа сигарет допускается, однако их покупка через торговые автоматы или онлайн запрещена. Импорт сигарет для торговли возможен при наличии лицензии на ввоз. Реклама полностью запрещена. На упаковке сигарет обязательны предупреждения о вреде для здоровья, и минимальный возраст для их приобретения составляет 18 лет. Также действуют отдельные ограничения на курение в общественных местах, таких как образовательные учреждения. Общая ставка налогообложения сигарет составляет 57%. В 2024 году в Беларуси насчитывалось приблизительно 1,7 миллиона взрослых, которые курят, что составляет распространённость курения среди взрослого населения на уровне 22,9%. Среди мужчин этот показатель составлял 38,7%, а среди женщин — 9,6%. Ежедневно курят 39,1% взрослых, причём среди мужчин — 20,3%, среди женщин — 8,1%. В этом же году курение стало причиной примерно 19,8 тысячи смертей, из которых 17 тысяч пришлись на мужчин и 2,8 тысячи — на женщин. Это означает, что курение стало причиной 12,23% всех смертей в стране, в том числе 21,21% среди мужчин и 3,42% — среди женщин.
