По состоянию на 2019 год в Саудовской Аравии насчитывалось примерно 606 900 человек, использующих традиционные некурительные табачные изделия, что является одним из самых высоких показателей в регионе. Среди взрослых распространённость составляла 2,4%, при этом среди мужчин она была значительно выше (3,7%), чем среди женщин (0,5%). Существенна и доля ежедневного употребления: ежедневно использовали такие изделия 1,4% взрослых — 2,1% мужчин и 0,2% женщин. Несмотря на эти показатели, традиционные некурительные табачные изделия запрещены законом в Саудовской Аравии. Их продажа является незаконной, что отражает позицию государства, направленную на сокращение употребления и защиту общественного здоровья.
