W Ukrainie odsetek palących dorosłych jest znaczący. Dane z 2022 roku wskazują, że 7 897 750 osób w wieku 15 lat i starszych paliło tytoń. Oznacza to, że ogólna rozpowszechnienie palenia wśród dorosłych wynosiła 22%, przy wyraźnych różnicach między płciami: paliło 38,3% mężczyzn i 8,5% kobiet. Dla porównania, w 2020 roku szacunkowa liczba palaczy była wyższa i wynosiła 8 462 024 osoby, z ogólną częstością palenia na poziomie 23,3% wśród dorosłych, 40,4% wśród mężczyzn i 9% wśród kobiet. Dla kontekstu, rozpowszechnienie codziennego palenia wśród dorosłych w 2016 roku wynosiło 20,1%, w tym 35,9% wśród mężczyzn i 7% wśród kobiet. Jeśli chodzi o zgony związane z paleniem, w 2021 roku odnotowano 74 279 zgonów przypisywanych paleniu, w tym 12 290 kobiet i 61 989 mężczyzn. Zgony związane z paleniem stanowiły 9,94% wszystkich przypadków śmiertelnych w kraju, w tym 3,2% wśród kobiet i 17,05% wśród mężczyzn.
