Los cigarrillos electrónicos son legales en Canadá bajo ciertas regulaciones. Su venta, uso y compra en línea están permitidos, así como la realización de afirmaciones sobre sus posibles efectos en la salud. Estos productos se encuentran disponibles en establecimientos de venta al por menor en general y están sujetos a impuestos especiales superiores al 50%, o a un monto equivalente al aplicado a los cigarrillos convencionales. Según datos de 2021, aproximadamente 1,6 millones de personas usaban cigarrillos electrónicos de forma habitual en Canadá ese año, lo que representa una prevalencia de vapeo actual entre adultos del 5%. La prevalencia era mayor en hombres (6%) que en mujeres (4%). En 2021, la prevalencia de vapeo diario en adultos fue del 3% en total, con un 2% entre las mujeres y un 3% entre los hombres.
