Traditional smokeless tobacco in Thailand is banned by law. Thus, it is illegal to sell these products. Despite the ban, there were approximately 1.2 million current users as of 2021, representing an adult prevalence rate of 2.1%. The prevalence among females was higher at 2.7%, compared to 1.5% among males. Its daily use was reported by 1.8% of adults, including 2.3% of females and 1.2% of males.
