As of 2014, 14200 people in Swaziland (Eswatini) were reported as current users of traditional smokeless tobacco. The adult current use prevalence was 2.2% overall—2.7% among men and 1.8% among women. The adult daily use prevalence of traditional smokeless tobacco was 1.4%, with both men and women reporting the same daily use rate of 1.4%. Traditional smokeless tobacco is allowed by law in Swaziland. The use and sale of the product are legal, but buying it online is not permitted. Moreover, there is a ban on all advertising, and health warnings are required on product packaging. The minimum legal age for purchase is 18 years.
