As of 2016, the adult daily use prevalence of traditional smokeless tobacco in Ivory Coast was 1.8% overall. Among men, the rate was 2%, and among women, 1.7%. Traditional smokeless tobacco is allowed and is regulated as a tobacco product in the country. There is a ban on all advertising. The sale of the product is legal, but online purchasing is not allowed. Moreover, health warnings are required on all packaging, and there is a minimum age restriction of 18 years for purchasing the product.
