Each country profile draws together some of the key statistics and regulatory information for each country in relation to smoking tobacco and safer nicotine products.

Sale and marketing of e-cigarettes is banned in Oman as per the decision by the Public Authority for Consumer Protection in 2015, however use and possession is legal. There is thought to be a black market in e-cigarettes as a result of the ban, which the Ministry of Health thinks is supplied by online sales and locals bringing products back from foreign trips. Oman citizens who bring back e-cigarettes or try to sell them may be fined €1,000 (500 Rials) for a first offence or double that for a second offence.

Notes on methodology & limitations

Data has been collected from a range of sources which are openly available online, such as vaping information/regulation websites & direct from country's legislation where available. In a few instances information has been included which was received from individuals specialising in the field. The regulatory picture changes frequently and these tables show the situation at time of going to press. This website will be updated as/when new regulatory information is received. There are gaps in the data available - readers are invited to send in updated information to the GSTHR team.
